My time as an engineer and STEM educator showed me that our youth need exposure to math, science and engineering. This is why I was honored to participate in the check presentation of the federal community project funding for the Boys and Girls Club of San Fernando Valley in Pacoima. This funding will deliver STEM-based programs to inspire students to pursue academic and technical careers.

Thank you to U.S. Rep. Tony Cárdenas for bringing more funding opportunities to ensure organizations, like the Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley (Official), have the ability to run successful programs in #AD39.
A special thank you to Nicole Chase, President and CEO of the Boy and Girls Club of San Fernando Valley, for her leadership in our community and for making sure that our youth have the resources they need to succeed.

Happy Birthday Ritchie Valens!

Today I was honored to join the unveiling ceremony of the Ritchie Valens Post Office. The renaming of the Pacoima postal office was in tribute to the great legacy left behind by the beloved Rock and Roll legend.
Ritchie Valens set a leading example for future generations and showed our community we have the ability to build and leave behind legacies. Ritchie Valens inspires so many of our community members and reminds us of our power to accomplish amazing things. Ritchie Valens will always remain in our hearts in Assembly District 39.
Thank you to U.S. Rep. Tony Cárdenas for making this celebratory commemoration possible to honor Ritchie Valens. #AD39

Calling All Volunteers, Community Clean Up at the Pacoima Wash Natural Park

Many constituents have voiced their concerns about community beautification and asked how they can help. Here’s one way to get involved!

This Saturday, my district office is partnering with the City of San Fernando, Government, Senator Bob Hertzberg‘s office, and TreePeople for a community clean up at the Pacoima Wash Natural Park.

One of my top priorities is to beautify #AD39, but this can only be accomplished if residents contribute in making a difference in their own communities. Please RSVP by clicking the link below or calling my District Office if you have any questions (818) 504-3911.

Pleasure of Conducting Oath of Office of Hector Cabrera

About a year ago, my office hosted a State Appointments Workshop in order to demystify the appointment process to becoming a State Board appointee or Commissioner. Hector Cabrera from Sylmar attended my workshop with the strong desire to serve #AD39 and the State.

I had the pleasure of conducting his oath of office. I was proud to support his recent appointment to the California Board of Occupational Therapy by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon.
Prior to his appointment, Hector dedicated almost 30 years of his professional career to providing and increasing access to vital social services in the Los Angeles region and spent 16 years as an active member of the Sylmar Neighborhood Council.

I am immensely proud of Hector and hope to continue to support more leaders and appointees from the Northeast San Fernando Valley!
