For this week’s #ThanksFromTheDistrict…

I am excited to share a success story #TeamLuz was a part of.
Karan had reached out to us last year for assistance with her unemployment benefits when she was facing challenging circumstances.

Through my district team’s intervention, she was able to have her benefits settled out. This later led her to launch into a new career path and mark onto the next milestone of her career.
Our team is always here to support our community with resources, and we will be here for you whenever you are in need of assistance (818)504-3911.

Thanks From The District . . .

Historic Verdugo Hills Cemetery Restoration & Renewal

Can you volunteer tomorrow at Finn Garden? Here’s some info on how to get involved. Need a little fresh air and sunshine? Want to get together with other community members and do some good for a couple of hours this weekend? Come join a community cleanup and open house this Saturday at Finn Community Garden, located in Howard Finn Park, directly behind North Valley City Hall at 7747 Foothill Blvd. The cleanup will begin at 8a and continue through 2p; tools and dumpster will be provided. As we enter the growing season, it is time to do some weeding and refresh the garden beds with new compost!

There are also several garden beds currently available to lease. If you are interested in gardening and growing food this year, come to the event to sign up for your very own garden bed for just $150/year.
For other ways to support this great local resource – such as donating, volunteering, or sponsoring a plot for someone else that needs food access – or to learn more about the garden, go to the garden website at https://www.finncommunitygarden.com/. Hope to see you there!

Honor of National Mom and Pop Business Owner DayHonor of National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day

I want to express my gratitude to the small businesses in #AD39 in honor of National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day!

I am privileged to recognize the following small businesses for their contributions to the San Fernando Valley. Lenchitas in Pacoima, Ranch Side Cafe in Lake View Terrace, and El Nayarit in San Fernando have serviced their communities for over 20 years. All three of these small businesses have created a strong reputation in the community by providing excellent service to their customers.
Thank you for your dedication to the people of the 39th Assembly District!

I want to express my gratitude

Caltrans will be conducting a “swarm” maintenance operation over the next few weekends. This is a major operation with a significant number of the workforce participating in litter and debris removal, weed abatement, landscaping, etc. at various sections between I-5 at Roxford St. to Roscoe Blvd. Attached is the schedule highlighting those areas.
