We need as many community members as possible to help make this year’s homeless count accurate. Please join others in our neighborhood by volunteering to count our unsheltered neighbors in our community. Your efforts will help provide funding and direct resources to combat homelessness.

Nicole Chase, President and CEO

In honor of Black History Month, I’d like to acknowledge one of our communities’ most dedicated local leaders.
Nicole Chase is the President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley. Nicole has been a dedicated community member for over 30 years and has had the unique opportunity to understand our communities youth through mentorship, consulting, fundraising, and educational recruiting. Through the Boys & Girls Club, she has been in the vanguard of youth development in the San Fernando Valley by enhancing and shaping their daily lives.

I am grateful for her dedication and am proud to honor her for the decades of devotion she’s shown to the children and families in AD-39.

In honor of Black History Month,

Community Leader Pastor Xavier L. Thompson

In honor of Black History Month, I would like to a moment and recognize an incredible community leader in AD-39 who is a great inspiration and influence.

Pastor Xavier L. Thompson is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Pacoima and Saint Paul Baptist Church in Pacoima, and also serves at the Covenant Connection, a Southern Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles.

Pastor Thompson exemplifies service to others, and his leadership is visible among the Covenant Connection’s members. During the emergence of COVID-19, he regularly provided food and meals to the community to meet their needs. He believes that transformation may start in the church, but it flows into the community around us. I am grateful for his contributions, leadership, and service to the families of our communities.

Thank you Pastor Thompson for your service and engagement activities for the betterment of the San Fernando Valley!
