#AB1832, the California Seabed Mining Prevention Act, passed the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Water with unanimous bipartisan support. Thank you to Senator Monique Limón, Senator John Laird, Senator Ben Allen, Senator Shannon Grove, Senator Ben Hueso, and my San Fernando Valley colleague Senator Bob Hertzberg.

I want to acknowledge the hard working efforts of our sponsors Monterey Bay Aquarium and Surfrider Foundation. Your support is helping us approach the finish line. I also want to take a moment to thank the Lieutenant Governor of California for presenting AB 1832 with me at the Senate Committee Hearing today. Only a few stops left!

North Valley Broncos

Today, we honor the North Valley Broncos from Pacoima – the FIRST all Black baseball team to make it to the Little League World Series in 1965. The North Valley Broncos started when four fathers got together to lease land to practice and formed a team. The team prevailed, making it all the way to the Little League World Series. I’m proud that our community of Pacoima holds this legacy as a reminder to young people growing up in Pacoima that they can surpass any obstacle to accomplish anything they set their mind to.
