Disaster Preparedness

Natural disasters are common in California, and we must be prepared for them.
Surprisingly, many don’t consider themselves at risk unless they live on or near the line of a well-known fault, such as the San Andreas or Hayward Fault.

However, devastating fires, earthquakes, and other recent disasters are clear signs we need to at minimum take simple steps to protect ourselves.

Garment Worker Protection Act

¡NO MÁS!
It’s time to say “NO MORE!” to garment wage theft. #SB62 #EndGarmentWageTheft #GarmentWorkerProtectionAct

From Garment Worker Center:

If you can’t pay your workers the minimum wage, you do 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 have 👏🏽 a 👏🏽 business. We’re so grateful to Assemblymember Luz Rivas for telling it like it is. Paying your workers the minimum wage is a requirement of doing business in California. “Businesses” that refuse to pay garment workers are not businesses, they are exploitative sweatshops. They are illegal, immoral, and have no place in our state. #SB62, the #GarmentWorkerProtectionAct, will hold big fashion brands accountable for the abuse that they enable in their supply chains and protect workers from abusive labor practices. Call your Assemblymember today and tell them to vote YES on SB62!
