Today’s press conference reaffirmed the strength of our community and the immense power of collaboration. I’m thrilled to announce that the San Fernando Community Health Center has been granted a remarkable $2 million in funding from the state budget for their transformative Corazon Del Valle Project in Panorama City.

This funding is a monumental step towards addressing disparities, and ensuring timely medical attention for our constituents throughout the San Fernando Valley. That’s why I’m incredibly proud to have championed the cause of the San Fernando Community Health Center and their Corazon Del Valle Project. This funding is a lifeline that will ensure individuals receive the care they need.

A special thank you to SFCHC for their commitment to providing affordable healthcare and removing barriers that prevent individuals and families from seeking and receiving the care they need to have healthy lives. Together, we’re carving a path to a healthier, brighter future for all.

Happy 818 Day! I’m proud to represent and call the east San Fernando Valley my home. My district has a rich history and is home to diverse communities and cultural landmarks such as The Great Wall of Los Angeles mural designed by Chicana artist Judy Baca in 1978. The mural is located in Valley Glen in #AD43.

The Great Wall of Los Angeles depicts the history of California as seen through the eyes of women and minorities in many connected panels. The mural emphasizes the often-overlooked history of Native Americans, ethnic and religious minorities, LGBTQ-identified people, and those fighting for civil rights.

The mural is 13 feet high, painted directly on concrete, and with a length of 2,754 feet (over 6 city blocks), It is credited as one of the longest murals in the world.

Last year, I was proud to secure $5 million for SPARC ART in the state budget to expand the mural, refurbish existing Artwork, and feature new art portraying current history.

#DistrictUpdate:

Drivers’ License Processing Centers were opened to help provide emergency outreach on REAL ID and to help Californians get their federally compliant Identification cards before the new May 7, 2025, deadline. As of December 1, 2022, there are now over 14,757,289 Real I.D. Cardholders in the state.

All 4 temporary Driver’s License Processing Centers across the state, including the Pacoima Office, will close this fall and customers will be relocated to adjacent field offices for transactions.

Due to the expansion of DMV services, which allows for over 90% of transactions to be completed online, Real ID applications and appointments can be initiated virtually.
To start the REAL I.D. application process, visit https://bit.ly/CA_REALID for more details.

To find the nearest branch office, visit https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/locations/ or contact my District Office at 818.504.3911.
