Back-to-School Giveaway at the Vaganbond Inn in Sylmar

Today, we hosted a Back to School fair in the community of Sylmar to support families that are experiencing homelessness, many of whom are residing in motels. These community members don't have the same level of access to resources for their kids to assure they can have a strong academic school year. It takes a village to care for our kids. With our partners LA Family Housing, School on Wheels, Inc., Los Angeles Public Library, Los Angeles Unified School District, and North Valley Caring Services we provided resources like backpacks, school supplies, diapers, hygiene items, and housing resources to help mitigate the challenges they would otherwise experience as a result of not being the physical classroom. Working together, we will close the gap and assure that students are not left behind as a result of the pandemic.
