Free Library Cards and Books

Yesterday, I joined the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Program and the @lapubliclibrary to hand out free library cards and books to kids and families in the San Fernando Gardens. Providing free educational materials and entertainment to our community is needed now more than ever. It provides much needed support for our children who will not be returning to the physical classroom this fall.

Unfortunately, much of our state has seen the devastating impacts of wildfire this past year. Please take some simple steps to protect your home and family by:

1) Testing your smoke alarm,
2) Following CAL FIRE, and Los Angeles Fire Department for updates about fires and helpful prevention tips,
3) Drawing up an evacuation plan for you and your family, and

Our office worked closely with the Bureau of Street Services to identify and prioritize our community’s needs. We advocated for these streets to be included in their yearly resurfacing program for our District. Please see below the traffic advisory below foe details.

WHAT:
Starting today, the City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Street Services will cold plane and resurface the street. There will be a full closure of the street with the above limits during the scheduled working hours. The public is advised to use Foothill Bl., San Fernando Rd. or any other alternate route.
