By now, I’m sure you’ve seen reports about the spread of monkeypox in Los Angeles. These cases should be taken seriously – but it’s important not to panic. We have the resources we need to stop the spread before it begins and to keep those who do become infected from becoming seriously ill. For more information on best practices, including vaccinations, and updates on the prevalence of monkeypox in the Los Angeles area, visit http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/monkeypox/. Stay safe.

Crossing guards, deployed to school crossings across the city, provide experience and judgment to help children negotiate a school crossing, while also increasing the visibility of their presence to drivers.

Thank you to all who came to the Fourth of July festival and drone show. After nearly ten years of absence I brought back the festival with the first drone show in the City of Los Angeles to replace pyrotechnic fireworks.
The history making event was a huge success! Enjoy this video showing highlights including images from the drone show. I look forward to next year and celebrating another amazing Fourth of July in the Seventh Council District.

Equestrian Advocate of the Year

Congratulations to Geronimo Bugarin who is #AD39’s 2022 Equestrian Advocate of the Year along with his horse, Super Mex!

The 39th Assembly District is home to a vibrant Equestrian Community and one of the few remaining residential areas in the City of Los Angeles that has private homes zoned for horse keeping.
Geronimo Bugarin is an equestrian advocate from the community of #Sylmar who has worked hard to bring riders from all around the district together. He is part of the Sylmar Equine Coalition, which provides rides and marches. The group is also instrumental in establishing the Make Your Horse Count event for many years. This event encouraged the community to license their horses and join to help preserve the equestrian life style here in Sylmar.
Thank you for being an advocate for the equestrian community in #AD39! Once again, congratulations!

Congratulations to Geronimo Bugarin who is #AD39’s

This bill now moves to the Senate for concurrence. I appreciate the fearless efforts of our environmental organizations, businesses, and waste management groups.
