In addition to the first, second, and third place winners selected by our esteemed panel of judges, we are also inviting constituents in our district to choose their favorite work produced by local student artists for the “People’s Choice Award.”

Voting is now open from today (Wednesday, April 12th) through Friday, April 21st! We’re also pleased to invite you to view students’ artwork at The Ebell of Los Angeles as we announce the winners on Saturday, April 29. The viewing begins at 11 am, and winners will be announced at 1:30 pm.

We encourage all community members to participate and support the talented artists in our district. Pass this along to friends and family, and good luck to all the students!

Happy birthday Dolores Huerta! You continue to inspire me. #DoloresHuertaDay

Thank you to The Climate Center for inviting me to participate on your Climate Change Impact on Health panel.

Extreme Heat has devastating effects on our communities of color, people with disabilities, seniors, pregnant people, infants, and our low income communities.

Extreme weather is our new normal, and we must present public policy solutions fast to ensure we are protecting California’s most vulnerable communities.

Thank you to Venise Curry, Barbara Sattler, and Dr. Arianne Teherani for sharing this panel discussion with me. It was a pleasure.
