Installed Utilitarian Lights on DWP Wooden Poles

A concerned Pacoima resident contacted my office requesting extra street lighting. Leading the effort with the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting and Department of Water and Power (DWP) we installed utilitarian lights on DWP wooden poles on Glamis St.

Great turnout at our horse license and microchip event at Stetson Ranch. From establishing the district’s first equestrian council to the installation of HAWK beacon crossings at intersections throughout the district, we licensed 87 horses and one dog. Help Families by Donating New, UnWrapped Books

This holiday season has been very challenging for working families in my district. This is why I am happy to partner up with the Child Care Resource Center to help collect books and toys for children and families in need.
Help families by donating new, unwrapped books and toys for children ages 0-13. You can drop off toys at my office starting today through December 14th.

Beautified Stetson Ranch in Sylmar

On Sunday, November 7, 2021, MRod Volunteer Corp, our local equestrian community, and my staff beautified Stetson Ranch in Sylmar. This type of collaborative effort between my office and members of the community working together will help keep our City’s parks clean. Tree Trimming along Foothill Boulevard

Concerned Sylmar residents contacted my office regarding tree trimming along Foothill Boulevard between Polk Street and Bledsoe Street. I’m pleased to inform you that my staff worked closely with the Urban Forestry Division to trim overgrown trees that caused potential danger from the possibility of falling branches.

Additionally, we are working equally hard to rebuild our tree canopy to green our community, Residents can request a free street tree at https://www.cityplants.org/.

Provide Free Bags of Compost

Get free trees! As part of my broader effort to invest in and deliver healthier, greener neighborhoods I partnered with the Los Angeles Sanitation & Environment, City Plants, and TreePeople to provide free bags of compost and mulch with a free shade or fruit tree.

Resurfaced Several Streets in Pacoima

Leading the effort with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services we resurfaced several streets in Pacoima. These streets had cracks, potholes, and were uneven.
Street resurfaced:

-Eustace St., Dronfield Ave. to Chivers Ave.
-Desmond St., Dronfield Ave. to Chivers Ave.
-Chivers Ave., Desmond St. to Eustace St.

Reducing Plastic Foodware

Disposable foodware, including utensils and napkins, is only available at restaurants when requested by customers. Businesses will not be able to include plastic utensils and napkins with takeout orders or for dine-in meals unless a customer specifically asks for them. All food and drink businesses will be required to follow the new rules starting April 22, 2022.
