Since taking office, I have prioritized upgrading pedestrian crosswalks and adding speed humps.

Working closely with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, my office identified the streets by El Dorado Elementary School in Sylmar and Haddon Elementary School in Pacoima as being in great need of those services.

Take a look at the difference our efforts are making!

September’s record breaking heat wave could have been worse had it not been for Californians’ aggressive conservation measures. Climate change is increasing our energy demand while the state is in the process of transitioning our electrical grid to be clean, renewable, and reliable.

Moving forward we need to be proactive about procuring greater clean resources and bringing them online as quickly as possible. We cannot continue to depend on ratepayer conservation actions to prevent rolling black outs. Californians deserve to have access to clean, affordable, and reliable power sources.

I look forward to working with the Legislature and state agencies to accomplish these goals.

The residents of Pacoima and the surrounding neighborhoods deserve environmental and economic justice. In addition to the obvious safety risks posed by Whiteman Airport being in a residential area, the many takeoffs and landings each day produce large amounts of toxic pollutants.

Los Angeles County is currently developing a community-informed re-envisioning process for the airport, and this week, they’re hosting two open houses as an opportunity for the public to learn about the process and share their thoughts.

I strongly encourage you to attend. For more information, please look at the flyers above.

Our annual San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade was postponed the past two years because of COVID, but we once again celebrated in-person today!

As the daughter of a veteran, I know that they’re deserving of this respect, given all the sacrifices they make in order to assure our freedoms.

To each and every veteran—not just here in Los Angeles, but everywhere in our country: thanks for your incredible service.

Our annual San Fernando Valley Veterans Day

Today, my team had the honor of attending the 19th Annual San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade.

On this day, we honor the sacrifice of all men and women that have served our country.

I would like to thank President and Parade Founder Fred Flores of the San Fernando Valley Veteran’s Day Parade Committee for coordinating this tradition year after year in the heart of #AD39.
Happy Veteran’s Day and thank you for your service!
