From Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez Desk – Our Efforts to Stop Illegal Fireworks in Advance

I held a press conference with LAPD Chief Moore and LAFD Chief Crowley as part of our efforts to stop illegal fireworks in advance of the 3rd Annual Anonymous Fireworks Buyback event on Saturday (July 1).

In 2021, I launched the city’s first Anonymous Fireworks Buyback Program. And in the first two years, more than a half-ton of fireworks were voluntarily collected.
This year we will remove even more illegal fireworks off the streets to reduce the risk of injury or fire in our communities.

Join us tomorrow for the Anonymous Fireworks Buyback Program and receive a gift card while supplies last.

Saturday, July 1
9 AM – 12 PM
Brand Park Parking Lot
1521 S. Brand Blvd.
Mission Hills, CA 91345
