From Assemblymember Luz Rivas Desk – Los Angeles Fire Department is Providing Free, Ready-To-Fill Sandbags Year-Round

Los Angeles is predicted to receive another round of heavy rain. Please exercise caution when driving and walking near the Pacoima or Tujunga Wash. Storm runoff will be moving fast.
To help City of Los Angeles residents prepare for the rainstorm, the Los Angeles Fire Department is providing free, ready-to-fill sandbags year-round at all neighborhood fire stations.

If you need sand and sandbags, please visit the following fire stations in AD43:

– Sun Valley / La Tuna Canyon – Fire Station 77, 9224 Sunland Boulevard;
– Sylmar / Sylmar Recreation Center (adjacent to Fire Station 91) – 14430 Polk Street.

If you need help locating local fire stations in LA, please visit: https://www.lafd.org/fire-stations/station-results.

Please remember to sign up for local emergency notifications and alerts:

– Los Angeles City – https://emergency.lacity.org/alerts/notifyla;
– San Fernando – https://ci.san-fernando.ca.us/alert-san-fernando/.

Please stay safe #AD43!
