On Tuesday, the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count took place in Council District 7. It was a success because of volunteers like Stephanie Ramirez, Sergio Acosta, Marilu Martinez, and Fernando Nuñez, who are mentioned in this article by the San Fernando Valley Sun. They could have been anywhere else that night, but they showed up and did their part to help tackle the homelessness crisis, which requires an all-hands-on-deck approach.
The information we collected is absolutely critical—it informs how we allocate our resources, how we dispatch and deploy resources, and it helps give us a sense of where we’re making progress or where we’re not.
Thank you to staff from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), from Mayor Karen Bass’ office, and from Senator Caroline Menjivar’s office for their support.
