Last week, the City Council of San Fernando issued a proclamation declaring March to be Womens History Month. I was thrilled to be presented with the proclamation by the City Council and to have the opportunity to speak about this amazing distinction!
After working as an engineer for several years, I became passionate about gender equity when I saw the lack of women in my field. In order to promote Gender Equity, I then founded a non-profit organization at my elementary school with the goal of encouraging young girls to pursue STEM education.
We need to let our young females know that the potential lies within all of them, most importantly, that their diverse perspective matters. Thank you City Council for this amazing proclamation in honor of Women’s History Month!
