Today, our community and the City of San Fernando united to pay tribute to Cindy MontaƱez by renaming the Pacoima Wash Natural Park in her honor. She’s been an unwavering advocate for our community, passionately championing environmental causes and shattering glass ceilings.
MontaƱez is the youngest woman to serve as a Councilmember for the City of San Fernando at 25 and Assemblymember for our community at 28. After serving in the Legislature, she has continued fighting for environmental justice by transitioning LADWP to a cleaner and sustainable water supply and becoming the first Latina ever to serve as a CEO for an environmental organization (TreePeople).
