From Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez Desk – A Car is Considered “Abandoned” After Sitting for more than 72 Hours

Did you know that a car is considered “abandoned” after sitting for more than 72 hours? My team and I helped remove this abandoned vehicle that had been sitting for over two-weeks on the 14000 block of Herron Street in Sylmar.

It’s important to report these locations by contacting LADOT at 1-800-ABANDON (222-6366) Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM, or submit the vehicle and location electronically at https://ladot.lacity.org. You may also report the abandoned vehicle using the city’s 311 system. When you call my office, please provide us with the date you first reported it with the Service Request number, as this aids us in resolving these locations.
