Through the Adopt-A-Lot pilot program that I led, we created a citywide process for community groups to adopt and transform vacant city lots into lively community spaces. My team worked with KDI and Pacoima Beautiful to convert a vacant lot on Tupper St and Columbus Ave in North Hills into a community recreational space featuring planter beds, play equipment, and seating areas. Through our new partnership with Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, we now want to convert this pilot space into a permanent park.
