Throughout my years in office, I have had the privilege to learn more about the history, culture, and contributions of the Fernandeno Tataviam Band of Mission Indians.

As a member of the Select Committee on Native American Affairs, it was such an incredible honor to receive a Civic Leadership Award by Fernandeño Tataviam Tribal President, Rudy Ortega, for my support for the tribe.
