I’m thrilled that President Joe Biden has recognized the significant effects that #ExtremeHeat has on our disadvantaged communities, both rural and urban, and workers nationwide.
#CA did not wait to act – I was proud to help secure $150 million in our budget for local governments and organizations to use for programs to mitigate extreme heat. These mitigation efforts include (but are not limited to) cool roofs and streets, urban greening, and developing climate resiliency centers.
