Newsom Approves New Ethnic Studies Requirement

Earlier this week, the Governor signed AB 1460 (Assemblymember Shirley Weber) to require ethnic studies course focused on one of four ethnic groups (Latino or Latina, African American, Asian American or Native American studies) is a CSU graduation requirement. I voted proudly in support of AB 1460 because ethnic studies is the history of us. Our people, contributions, culture, and traditions play an integral part in shaping American history and is what makes America great. It is time our histories are widely accessible, represented and taught in classrooms.
