During my campaign for City Council in 2017, I made a promise to the Lake View Terrace community to build a sidewalk at Fenton Avenue and Tella Bella Street, an important intersection adjacent to Fenton Charter Public School. For nearly 28 years, residents have been advocating for improvements to enhance the safety of the walking path.
Today, I kept my promise and delivered in record time this long-overdue investment to our community. In two years, I secured nearly $800,000 to fund the improvements, which include the installation of a new sidewalk and retaining wall, street resurfacing, new lighting, street widening, a new road striping plan, and continental crosswalks and access ramps. These major changes will enhance the safety of students and families walking to and from school. A special thank you to the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering, City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services, and community advocates for the support to complete this important project.
