My team had a great time at the Veteran & Military Families Career & Resource Expo at the VFW Post 3834! My team had the chance to connect with fellow community members, veterans, and their families to inform them about the State services my office can provide.

It has been an honor to participate in an event that reflects our commitment to serving those who have served us. I extend my gratitude to each attendee, sponsor, organizer, and volunteer who made this event possible. Your dedication reinforces the spirit of unity that defines our community.

I joined my colleagues as we proudly stood with members of UNITE HERE Local 11 at the Universal Sheraton. Our demand was for the management to stop the retaliation campaign against workers who went on strike.

We support all of our workers across the state who are fighting for fair wages and working conditions.

Hate and discrimination have no place in California.

I joined The San Fernando Valley Sun‘s panel discussion on “Expressions of Hate on LA’s Most Vulnerable Latino Populations”.

The increase in hate crimes in LA County is devastating. The community I know celebrates diversity and welcomes people from various walks of life.

Thank you to the San Fernando Sun for reporting this local issue and to the community members who attended this discussion.

Thank you Los Angeles Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department for featuring women leaders in advance of Women’s Equality Day!

103 years ago, the 19th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing American women the right to vote.

We recognize all the suffragettes and leaders, including City Hall leaders, who have paved the way for a more just and equitable future.

LADOT is accepting applications for new Crossing Guards. Crossing guards are critical to keeping our students safe while traveling to and from school, increasing the visibility of their presence to drivers. It’s why I secured $1.4M to hire more crossing guards in the last budget.

After a busy weekend of hurriquake watch, my team and I were out checking on our neighborhoods for any residual issues. With several dams, waterways, and history of slides in the district, we take every event seriously. We need everyone to report downed trees, clogged catch basins, and other outages to 311.

I joined fire on surveying our area, and thankfully, everything performed as we needed. Special thanks to LAFD, LAPD, our Public Works, DWP and DOT crews for their continued efforts.
