Congratulations to the Los Angeles Public Library on celebrating its 150th Anniversary!

As part of its 150 days of activities and events, today at the Pacoima Branch Library from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, there will be an interactive workshop entitled “Feeling the Spirit of the Drum” for teens grades 6-12. This workshop allows participants to connect with their inner drumming spirit and fellow drummers.

Presented by Roberto “KongaKid” Gutierrez, you’ll learn about West African and Cuban drums as well as other percussion instruments.

Tonight marks the first night of Hanukkah, which celebrates the triumph of light over darkness. To those who celebrate: may this festival bring blessings to you and your family. ⁣
I also want to take a moment to, once again, condemn hate in all its forms. There is no place in Los Angeles for hate or bigotry of any kind, and we must all speak out against anti-semitism when it happens.
